Thinking Out Loud

Finally, a blog upgrade!

filipino medical student and blogger Aura AzarconDo you remember this post? I babbled on and on about getting a blog upgrade and having my own space on the web, and after four months – I did it!

(Well, four months was a long time for anyone to register the domain for me – you know, as a gift like no biggie – but my parinig didn’t work. I had to do it myself. Lelz.)

I migrated all my previous blog posts and reorganized them using categories and tags, so I hope navigating will be easier from now on. To start, use the sliding menu on your left!

Also, I spent a lot of hours writing and re-writing my “About Me” page, and that pretty much describes what this new blog is all about. Check it out!

And if you noticed, this is now “a medical blog and resource site” meaning  (oh no) I must stay true to the resource site part! Hahaha! Well at least that’s something new to look forward to for all of us. I am working on a lot of med-related articles, study tips, and free downloads! I think I’m just going to upload them all at once to make it look more legit. Or should I do it one by one? For the mean time, any suggestions are welcome! What do you want to see around here? 🙂

Lastly, for the record, I did jump out of my excitement when I finally bought this domain. Yes, it was an impulsive purchase at 2 am, but it’s something I’ve been thinking about for years. When I actually got to the dirty work, I admit that more than once, I thought “YIKES what did I get myself into?” Transferring my old posts, choosing a responsive site layout, working with codes, setting up the must-have plug-ins, checking for errors, conceptualizing new content, and paying $$ for hosting space – this site is no joke.

It is a brand new commitment, and yes, it is possible for me to forget about this once the unpredictable and unforgiving med life takes its course, but why focus on the negative?

I’d rather tell myself that 1) this is me fulfilling my childhood dream, and 2) this is me opening myself to new opportunities – to meet like-minded people, to help and inspire readers, and to simply remember my days. Is there any other way? 🙂

Cheers to doing what you’ve always wanted to do!

Sumthin’s Cookin

Hello! Just a quick update.

I’m already on my minors rotation. Having finished ENT, Ophthalmology, and Psychiatry, I still have Radiology, Dermatology, and Pathology left for this month. That means I only have a few weeks left to rest, study, go out with friends, or stay in to work on my not-so-secret personal project.

I have previously mentioned here (more than once, for sure) that I’ve always had this childhood dream. I’m happy to say that yes yes yooo – I’m finally on it! Techie geeky web-savvy me is still so giddy about it even if it’s dawning on me that this upgraded hobby is costing me a lot of time and money.

Well, a dream is a dream. And around here, we don’t let dreams be just dreams.

See you soonest at my new home online!!!! THIS IS IT PANSIT!

Keep On Writing

I’ve been playing with the idea of getting my own domain name for a few days now.. Well, for a few years. Haha!

Ever since I started making HTML websites and blogging as a pre-teen, I have wanted to buy my own place on the web. Back then, it was probably for bragging purposes only. You know, like guys just go to “” to find me on the internet! I’ll have free java games and downloadable wallpapers for you, dear visitors.

Fancy names with fancier layouts coded from scratch were the thing back then. “” in a minimalist default theme just wouldn’t cut it. The first time someone with her own domain agreed to host me, it was something like “”.  Ha ha ha ha.

When eleven-year-old-me mentioned this to my father, he was like “what the f is a domain name?” (Expected.)

“There is no way I am putting my credit card info online for that.” (Case closed.)

More than ten years later, I still want it.

I'm A Conflicted Bird

Yesterday, after a full day at the university clinic, I got home at around 5:30 pm and fell asleep right away. Then, I woke up today at 1:30 am and spent a good amount of time contemplating between going back to sleep or starting my day extra early.

I obviously did the latter. I had leftover dinner for breakfast while reading Allegiant by Veronica Roth. I am now enjoying my good, good cup of Kapeng Barako (with honey yum) while typing away. My dog is still snoring. (He really is! I’m so bothered!)

I also came across this question on The Daily Prompt.

Are you a night owl or are you the early bird? What’s your most productive time of day? When do you do your best work?

Out Of Curiosity

Here’s a random post because my boyfriend recently presented his research in the National Medical Students’ Conference  (me proud hihi). I just remembered my own amateur research musings back in high school.

My Purpose for Blogging

It’s 1:30 pm on a Sunday that MUST be productive, but I figured I could do away with 30 more minutes of procrastination.

Did you know, that this would probably be my 10th year of blogging? Don’t try to look for archives of 11-year-old me though; for I had not been smart enough to host those blogs in domains that could assure me of online longevity. Even Yahoo Geocities failed me!
