Here’s something ironic. Every time I go out with my friends, I’m always the one with the least makeup on. You can see it in the pictures! When I’m in school however, I’m one of the few who actually spend time in the bathroom, worrying about my eyebrows instead of the rumored surprise quiz!
Mind you, I only apply makeup in the morning, and rarely retouch for the rest of the day. That’s because all my makeup are easy to apply and long lasting – perfect for busy med students who still want AND need to look presentable.
So, here goes my first ever gandang ganda sa sarili post! I’m sharing with you the basics inside my everyday makeup kit, in order of application.
1) MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder
My friend Peach just bullied me into buying this on impulse, but I don’t regret it. This one’s a cult favorite and now I know why.
2) Happy Skin Eye Love View Eyebrow Duo
Grabe! All those years wasted, looking so bare-faced and pale just because I never really paid attention to my brows. This one is so long lasting that even if I forget to reapply the next day, a faint trace will still be there. Mukhang Betadine ng slight though.
3) The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain
Every time I wear this, I look and feel HAPPY. For a possibly anemic person, this is a must have for me. It stains my finger after applying but I don’t mind. Number one ikinaganda-ko-to product hahaha!
4) Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick
This sounds gross and unhygienic, but I used this tube to the finish, every single day for 1 and a half years! This doesn’t stain my coffee mug and it’s still there after I eat. It does get a little flaky at the end of the day so sometimes I have to scrub my lips while brushing my teeth.
The following are optional – either after an all-nighter or before a really hectic day. Extra battle gear!
5) The Face Shop Phytogenic Infinite Concealer Duo
This is perfect for my skin tone. It’s not as long-lasting so I have to set it with powder, which makes me look too made up so I don’t always wear this. It smells so good though!
6) Happy Skin Shut Up and Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie
This lippie is not long-lasting at all so it’s not part of my “basics” – but recently I’ve been using this every day and I love it!
I hope you like my list! I guess I’m low maintenance, but NOT zero maintenance. I’ll probably keep this up even if I start working in the hospital or in the clinics. I know I have to start learning blending eye shadows and face contours eventually, especially for special occasions. Good thing there’s Youtube for everything. 🙂
